Industrial Log Splitter

Adding A Log Splitter To Your Equipment

For any sawmill, making the best choice in equipment is critical to the long-termsuccess of the operation. Of course, getting the best employees is also important, but if the equipment is old, poorly designed or simply ineffective, even the best employees cannot keep it running.

At L-M Equipment Company, Inc., we realize the demands placed on saws and other types of equipment and systems used in the lumber industry. In business since 1946, we have a well-founded understanding of the demands on equipment, which is why we make our log splitter models and our saws with real-world application in mind.

Log Size

One of the challenges for many sawmills and forestry industry companies is finding a log splitter with the capacity to handle the size of logs they need to process. Our LS System 2000 splitter is able to easily handle logs up to 20 feet and to a 60-inch diameter.

There is an optional log support that can be added to the standard splitter, allowing for any dimension of log to be processed. We can also provide remote control operation options, which increases user safety and adds to the ease of use of the machine.

Cutting Ability

The machine uses a heavy-duty hydraulic system with an onboard HPU (hydraulic power unit) that is easily accessible for service and maintenance. It uses a 7.5- horsepower motor with a variable displacement vane pump to control the saw bar. The system also has the option for gas power, just let us know which is the best
option for your operational requirements.

The log splitter has an adjustable travel speed through the log, which is possible through gear reduction. This reduction allows for higher torque and lower power requirements, increasing both efficiency as well as the speed of the splitting operation.
